If you're preparing to launch your business and grow online, you've come to the right place! Our Marketplace is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs get online as easily as possible. But before you're ready to become a Merchant, there are a few things you'll want to do first:

Connect with a Startup Alleghenies Coach

If you haven't done so already, make sure you've connected with a Startup Alleghenies Coach. It's required that all Merchants have a connection with a coach. You can get in touch with us here if you aren't sure who your county's coach is, connect with us here.

*You must be a member of either Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon, or Somerset County to join.

Consider What Legal Entity You Will File As

While it's not required that you be registered when reaching out, you will need to be a legal business entity when you sell products on the Marketplace. It's a good time to start considering if you'll file as an LLC, S-Corp, Sole Proprietorship, or other business type now.

Get Your Product Images and Logo Ready

Having a strong online presence means telling a compelling visual story through product photos and a company logo. You'll be required to submit images and logos to make your store and products live, so having them ready ahead of time is a great time-saver.

Create Your PayPal Business Account

Payouts are distributed through PayPal. That means in order to get paid, you'll have to connect a PayPal Business Account. If you need help getting started, we suggest going to the following resource.
